Condolences to her family and friends. Cool time-lapse video on her fb a few days ago. I hope, if she was killed intentionally for whatever reason, that the murderer is put to death. Carry on CPD.

Not a random act? Do what?!?! Now l'm all for throwing away the key on the DUI offenders, but really? First we give them an excuse "they were too drunk to reaize what was going on" and charge them with a crime that carries a softer penalty, but now you're implying that this driver may have intended to hit this person... in the dark... in the pouring rain... while riding a bike?

Is this now supposed to be a hate crime? The driver had something against people riding 10-speeds? Or mountain bikes? Or was it the riding at night or maybe in the rain?

What does that mean?! If this wasn't a random act, why hasn't there been an arrest?! Katie was a mature, engaged young lady. When my daughter introduced her to me, I was so glad that she had made such a truly lovely friend. I can't imagine the pain that her friends and loved ones are enduring, and pray that whomever struck and killed Katie will be arrested today.

So sad! I came upon this scene around 9:45p last night when headed to pick up my daughter at Jellybeans. I knew it had to have been bad! So sad to hear it was a child! Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the victim.
