— The Town of Cary has changed its sign regulations to allow signs for more open houses.

The original ordinance allowed signs for two open houses per house per year. Signs were also only allowed up during certain hours.

The council approved the new ordinance on Thursday. It allows signs for five open houses per year, according to city officials. The signs are also allowed at anytime on Saturday or Sunday.

I live in Cary and am from NC. Yes some of my neighbors are from up north, but they are some of the best neighbors I could hope for. I try not to dislike folks just because they are not from where I'm from or they are not like me. That approach sounds kind of bigoted to me.

It's amusing to see all the non-Cary residents bark and howl about this town. I'm not a yankee, my family has lived in the South since Colonial times. I live in Cary and have a dozen and a half Confederate soldiers in my lineage. There are some northerners here, there are also a lot of folks from other parts of the South too. Don't let reality get in the way of the nonsense though. If you really hate Cary, don't buy a house here, it's that simple. No one here cares.

Regardless of what town...I am speaking in General. I hate advertisement signs that pop up at intersections. I think signs should be allowed on your property only.

Businesses put signs on the side of roads and it is border line polluting. "Tapes on DVD" "We will buy your house" "No money down Mortgage" The type of signs I hate! I rip them out when I can.

Broken Arrows says "In my line of work, I'm often asked for directions to businesses around Cary and I always use familiar landmarks such as Pure Gold, a strip club on Harrison Avenue and whatever trailer park I know of."

In your line of work ??? Was that you I saw on the most recent episode of COPS? And I don't mean the guy with the badge.

Why all the hate towards Cary?

You mean a safe place to live, great schools- you mean that?

    Oh, I see your reasoning....

Of course this makes sense.. The reason for being, the mission statement of Cary is the McMansion.

"Cary, underneath all the fluff, it's still just another redneck North Carolina province of Raleigh."

LOL, someone sporting Kentucky colors commenting on Rednecks.
