Carver Elementary principal resigns

Posted June 15, 2009

Wake County Public School System

— Students at Carver Elementary School will have a new principal next fall.

Allison Baker, 41, resigned before the school system could complete an investigation into her conduct, said Michael Evans, a spokesman for Wake County schools.

Evans said Baker, who had worked for the school system since 2002, submitted her resignation June 1. She had been on paid leave since May 22 after a "negative interaction with a student," Evans said.

Evans declined to provide more detail about the interaction with the student, saying it was a private personnel matter.

My children attend this school. Amazing how parents have to find out on the news was going on in their kids school.....AMAZING!

"negative interaction with a student," Yeah, you could also say it was a negative interaction with the principal. Why wouldn't we say that? I guess I will guess.

Well, in most of these incidents, it's the taking indecent liberties with a minor problem. Sounds like this isn't the case, and yeah, in this day and age you just have to keep your cool and suspend them over and over and over and over and keep them out of the classroom.

The inmates are running the assylum. Teachers and administratord are forced to take too much garbage. If the kid is not there to learn and behave then throw them out.

That way my kid might be able to learn something. My kids KNOW if they get in trouble that is only the tip of the iceberg.

Shame on these parents and shame on the school system for sccepting bad behavior that penalized the rest of the kids.

I love these stories. Am I supposed to guess what the allegations are?

not all children are angels this was probably the case

how would we know enough to say anything at this point? I assume the parent of the child knows what is going on, and is probably happy to have cost the principle her job. My assumption is that the "woman manhandled a child...." But that would be a guess. Would be easy to grab a kid by the hand and jerk them outta the classroom when they are back sassing you in front of others.

How do we get adults to work all day with a building full of kids showing off for one another and homes that don't teach proper behavior or emotional control?

Lets NOT assume that the child is innocent in this.
