<b>CARTHAGE, N.C.</b> — A Carthage man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with his wife's death, authorities said.

Moore County deputies found the body of Ruby Scott Bullins, 58, inside 699 McIntosh Road at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday. Investigators haven't released how she died but said her injuries were consistent with a homicide.

James Allen Bullins, 37, was charged with first-degree murder and malicious assault in secret. He was being held without bond in the Moore County jail.

Police didn't disclose a possible motive for the crime.
