Cars vandalized in two Raleigh neighborhoods

Posted June 22, 2015

— The phone calls to Raleigh police began at 6 a.m. Monday from dozens of residents in the Southgate and Granite Ridge neighborhoods who awoke to find their cars vandalized.

Anthony Poole and many of his neighbors knew it wasn’t going to be a good day.

“I was devastated when I woke up this morning to see that somebody had vandalized the cars in our neighborhood, because we’ve never had anything like this happen before,” Poole said.

The vandals left white spray paint on windshields, windows and hoods, and police spent the morning looking for any clues that could lead them to who's responsible.

Some owners tried to remove the graffiti, but others headed straight to the body shop.

Neighbors echoed Poole, saying that very little crime occurs in their neighborhood. However, one resident said it didn’t matter—he’s already thinking about moving.

This is all fun and games for the vandals, until a property owner decides he/she has had enough! Not condoning violence, but some people have a very short fuse!
