— Carrboro police are asking for the public’s help in identifying men who have been seen hunting squirrels from their cars.

Witnesses have told police they have seen the men, driving a green Honda sedan and a silver Acura RSX, in the area of North Greensboro Street and Westbrook Drive. One of them was armed, but it was unknown whether the weapon was a rifle or air gun.

Hunting and the discharging of firearms within town limits are illegal, and police said they are concerned about the possibility of injury from someone firing bullets or pellets.

Anyone with information should call 919-918-7415 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515. Crime Stoppers pays cash for information leading to an arrest, and callers may remain confidential.

Please don't call these people "hunters." They're not hunting squirrels, they're just killing them. There's difference.
