Carolina Ballet offers Nutcracker ticket deal

Posted November 28, 2014

A look at a rehearsal of Carolina Ballet's The Nutcracker on Nov. 30, 2011.

A Go Ask Mom Facebook fan asked me if I knew of any deals for tickets to see the Carolina Ballet perform The Nutcracker.

I didn't have one readily available, so I emailed my contact at the ballet and she created one just for us!

Use the code Mom2014 to get 30 percent off tickets in zone 2, which is section B or D on either side of the center section at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. The deal is good for performances from Dec. 22 to Dec. 28. These would make great stocking stuffers if you go to one of the shows after Christmas!

Call the box office at 919-719-0900 to get your tickets.

Thank you for negotiating this deal for us. I was on hold for quite a while - so it must be popular! This is a tradition for me and my daughter. We feel so fortunate to have the opportunity here in Raleigh to enjoy what is truly two shows in one: the Carolina Ballet *and* the NC Symphony! The live music and dance performance are the perfect kick-off to our holiday season!

To qualify for the discount, $100 seats are required. $25 seats are great, but we can get tickets to a hockey game, with hot dogs and drinks included, at a better rate. Not to mention a better venue. We would rather support local artist in a more local venue, but again, cost are prohibitive. I suggest a family package at $15-20 with a parking voucher to bring in local support.

With all respect, the tickets do not begin at $100. Ticket prices range from $25 to $123 for the Saturday matinee that I just checked. WILDPONEE, you may wish to check the ballet web site.

Many boys enjoy it too, but you are correct about the cost. Our family won't be attending as it is cost prohibitive.

While i am glad to see this discount, I am overwhelming ly frustrated with the cost of tickets for this ballet. For many girls, this is a right of passage. With tickets upward of $10

It's not clear exactly how you get the discount and at which website to enter the promo code. Can you call the box office and get the discount?
