    Quemaster - of all the folks on this blog, I would have thought that you had tried hog jowls before!

    jdouglas - that's too funny. I can remember the first time I saw fatback on a display at a Food Lion. I had just moved from Colorado and had no idea what it could possibly be.

    Back when we lived in CT, in a pretty poor neighborhood, I was shopping one day at the local grocery store in the meat dept. I was bending over pretty close to see (because I was too stubborn to get eyeglasses), when I came literally nose to nose with a whole pig head. Let's just say my scream got the attention of the whole store! LO

    Hog jowls! I'm from eastern NC and I've never had those. I did see my Dad and his brother and sister almost come to blows over a pig tail once at dinner! Not for me but it is part of the heritage!
