Car sought in hit-and-run that killed Halifax woman
Authorities in Halifax County are looking for a four-door, gold or champagne-colored 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis in connection with a hit-and-run wreck that killed a Roanoke Rapids woman Saturday.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to the state Highway Patrol, the car has a North Carolina license plate – ZTN 5519.
Troopers said the car has damage to the passenger side and is missing a driver's side mirror.
Sheila Brinson, 47, was struck as she walked down a rural road around 1:30 a.m. Authorities have said the driver must have crossed the center line to hit Brinson.
