CARY, N.C. — A car crashed into Cary's Sugar Buzz Bakery and Café at 1231 Kildaire Farm Road Friday afternoon.

Witnesses said the driver, a 77-year-old man, accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brakes, hit two parked cars and then crashed through the facade and into the bakery window. No one was injured, either in the parking lot or inside the shop.

An inspector was called to determine if the structural integrity of the building was compromised.

Ashley Monaghan is a pastry chef at the bakery. She said opening the business was a dream come true.

"It's been open since Dec. 1, 2011, but I became owner Dec. 1 of last year, so I am only a couple of months in," she said.

According to Monaghan, Sugar Buzz Bakery and Café will be open for business on Saturday.
