Totally irrational post. As if safety is binary, you're either 100% safe, or you're unsafe. Of course no law can ever make everyone perfectly safe. But by your argument there should be no laws because they're always short of perfect. It's a sliding scale. Some laws help with safety a lot, some less, some not at all. But suggesting laws in general are worthless, and any call for a new law is pointless, is lunacy. Obviously this is about guns, and you just make the pro-gun side look silly by such an absurd argument.

This is a perfect example of the illusion of safety. The government has told the citizenry they have passed laws to protect them, such as in this case, keeping people from driving that should not be. That law and many others are useless and are only on the books to give the illusion that the legislature and law enforcement is doing something for your safety.

We cannot live in a risk averse society, and think that the passage of laws and their enforcement are going to keep us safe.

Occasionally people intentionally or unintentionally engage in stupid behaviors and take a few innocents with them.

No hand wringing, and the demand for the passage of new laws is ever going to correct that.

Yes, because a person with a car that accidentally hurts no one is exactly the same as a person with a gun who deliberately hurts/kills several.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

This shopping center if full of old drivers who can't drive. A few years ago another old rich lady in her Lexus ran over a motorcyclist and killed him.
