Car hits students outside Fuquay-Varina Middle School

A car struck two students Wednesday afternoon as they were walking home from Fuquay-Varina Middle School, Bill Poston, a spokesman for the Wake County Public School System said.

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A car struck two students Wednesday afternoon as they were walking home from Fuquay-Varina Middle School, Bill Poston, a spokesman for the Wake County Public School System said.

Neither child was seriously injured. Poston described the students' injuries as "bumps" and said both were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

He did not identify the students.

The accident happened around 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of Woodrow and Church streets.

Police have not commented on the incident.
