Car hits convenience store

Posted November 14, 2008

— A car hit the front of a Circle K convenience store Friday morning, police said.

Kimberly Speight was pulling her 2006 Lexus into a parking space in front of the store, at 109 W. N.C. Highway 54, at about 9 a.m. when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, police said.

The car struck the glass doors to the store, police said. No injuries were reported.

No charges have been filed in the incident, police said.

The store remained open for business.

Wow, there have been a lot of cases like this recently. I think most, if not all, of us have made driving mistakes that are just as bad, we just were not in situations where they could do real damage.

    So where is the news?
They had the same stories on here time and time again, and sometimes run the same story three times at once.

Let those who have never made a mistake while driving cast the first stone. If that was the case, at least 2 of the earlier posts wouldn't be here.

Z Man I agree...sounds like she can't tell the difference between the gas and brake.

Wonder if she was on the phone?

  • starglow2005 Nov 14, 2008

She wanted to turn it into a drive-thru because of the rain.

Maybe Kimberly should surrender her license.
