Car flips on I-40, slowing rush-hour traffic in Raleigh

A car overturned on Interstate 40 in Wake County Wednesday afternoon, closing all eastbound lanes and slowing rush-hour traffic to a crawl.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A car overturned on Interstate 40 in Wake County Wednesday afternoon, closing all eastbound lanes and slowing rush-hour traffic to a crawl. 

All lanes reopened shortly after 6 p.m.

A Raleigh police spokesman said the driver was speeding near Cary Towne Boulevard, lost control of the car and flipped over. 

No other cars were involved in the wreck.

The driver suffered minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
