KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — No people or animals were seriously hurt Tuesday morning when a Nissan sedan drove into the side of a veterinary clinic in Knightdale.

Shortly before 10 a.m., the driver of the car lost control and slammed into the Smithfield Road Veterinary Hospital, at 1140 Smithfield Road.

The clinic was open at the time, but no staff members or animals were hurt. The driver of the car and a passenger were checked by medical personnel at the scene.

A fire official told WRAL News that the driver of the car did not recall the moments prior to the crash.

The clinic is still open, and a building inspector is expected to investigate the damage Tuesday afternoon.
