'Distracted driver' crashes into northeast Raleigh home

Authorities are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a northeast Raleigh home Wednesday afternoon.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a northeast Raleigh home Wednesday afternoon.

The car crashed into the house at 704 Hanska Way at about 3 p.m. and photos from the scene showed damage to the garage and front of the house.

Authorities said the driver of the car, who was not identified, was distracted and ran off the road and into the house.

Police said nobody was injured in the crash but the family was displaced from the home Wednesday night as a result of damage. Engineers will need to determine if the house is still structurally sound before the family can return.
