Car crashes into Moore County Cracker Barrel; no injuries reported
MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — No injuries were reported after a car drove into a Moore County Cracker Barrel restaurant Sunday afternoon.

A Mercury Montego passenger car drove over the sidewalk and hit the side of the crowded restaurant just after 1:30 p.m. The vehicle stopped just a few inches away from people eating inside.

Officers with the Southern Pines Police Department identified the driver as 83-year-old Grace Horn from Carthage.

Emergency workers at the scene said Horn accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake while pulling into a parking spot, causing the collision.

No injuries were reported.

The section of the restaurant hit by the car was closed by firefighters as restaurant owners waited for a building inspector to assess damages to the building, which are estimated to total $2,500. The rest of the restaurant remained open Sunday afternoon.
