— A car jumped a curb and crashed through a window at Chili's Restaurant in Raleigh Thursday evening, according to police.

The driver was attempting to park in the parking lot when the vehicle suddenly went into the building, police said. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Customers and staff were evacuated from the restaurant, located at 6324 Glenwood Ave., according to Chili's staff. The gas was also turned off, staff said.

"The driver was attempting to park in the parking lot when the vehicle suddenly went into the building"

Suddenly went into the building? All on its own, too, I suppose.

It's clear the driver was negligent, why do they abstain from reporting that?

Look - that's a headlight from a train where you're standing on the tracks. It's heading right for you.

I agree with TechRescue that the situation was handled well. We were there too about 40 feet from the crash. We had just gotten our food when it happened. We weren't sure what to do afterwards about paying. Our waitress gave us a to-go box and then we were evacuated. I'm so thankful that no one was seriously hurt. What a crazy night!

Anybody notice the 30-day tag on the car? Maybe that's why he/she couldn't find the brake pedal!!!!

A "break" happened when the car drove through the building. Maybe the driver couldn't find the "brake" in the car
