Camp Lejeune Marine dies in Afghanistan

Staff Sgt. Stacy A. Green, 34, of Alexander City, Ala., died Dec. 10 in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense said Monday.

Green was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune. He was killed in action in Helmand province.

    SSgt Green, #1427 KIA of 1434 casualties in the Afghan War. Green was the 481st, of 487, USA military members killed this year... the most deadly year in the Afghan war yet. The 41st Marine to die in Helmand since 1 Oct 2010.
