Why are our young still dying in Afghanistan? What outcome is possible to make these deaths tolerable? Bush started the war perhaps justifiably due to Nineleven, over throwing the Taliban government. Obama supported the war, and stepped it up when President, having spent more money in his first 3 years in office, than Bush had in 7 years, and lose more American lives in those first 3 years than Bush had in 7, and now, more years go on with daily or weekly deaths and who knows how many "enemy" killed? Even as the US plans its announced withdrawal, the government prepares at the same time to keep military troops there for maybe a decade more. NPR would for years begin morning news with the names of our dead heroes featured, but that ended with the Obama reign. Where are the peace protests? Where's the video of flagged draped coffins once demanded? What happens to our presidents, from JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Bush, Obama to stay in undeclared wars?
