FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Cumberland County school cafeteria worker was charged Friday with embezzling money, authorities said.

Erika Rodriguez, 25, of 5121 Buckskin Drive in Fayetteville, was charged with felony embezzlement. She was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Rodriguez worked as a lunchroom cashier at the time of her arrest, and investigators said surveillance video taken between Aug. 1 and Nov. 28 showed her pocketing meal money collected from students.

An audit conducted by Cumberland County Schools determined about $1,130 was missing, authorities said.
