Cabela's in Garner opening today!

If you have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new Cabela's store in Garner, I have great news for you. The store opens today, Thursday, April 16th! Read on for the details about the weekend-long celebration they have planned for customers.

GARNER, N.C. — If you have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the new Cabela's store in Garner, I have great news for you. Cabela's opens today, Thursday, April 16th!

The new 105,000-square-foot store is located at 201 Cabela Drive near the intersection of Interstate 40 and U.S. Highway 70. It is right across from the White Oak Shopping Center on Hwy. 70.

Cabela's is kicking off the grand opening with a very unique ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 am. At the end of the ceremony, the ribbon will be cut by an arrow shot from a bow. They will have live music starting as early as 8 am according to the sale flyer in the newspaper on Wednesday, 4/15.

The store will open for business at 10 am after the ribbon cutting.

This is the first Cabela's North Carolina location and they are planning a weekend-long celebration including special appearances, family events, live entertainment, giveaways and more. On Friday, you can meet Jack Link's Sasquatch and NC State University's Mr. and Mrs. Wuf. There will even be a mobile aquarium on site on Saturday! Giveaways

There will be giveaways on multiple days including:

Thursday, April 16: The first 500 in line on Thursday will get a Cabela's gift card worth up to $500! Limit 1 per person.

Friday, April 17: First 50 people will get a Cabela's Utility Bag

Saturday, April 18: First 50 people will get a Cabela's cap

Sunday, April 19: First 50 people will get a Cabela's tripod stool

Customers will also have a chance to win a $1000 Cabela's gift card or a GoPro camera.

According to their press release, "the store will employ approximately 225 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees, most coming from Garner and the surrounding area. The store is designed to surround customers in a fun, outdoor-like experience with log construction, stonework, a large mountain replica, aquarium, indoor archery range and dozens of museum-quality wildlife displays. Also, it will include a deli, fudge shop, boat shop, Gun Library and Bargain Cave."

I had no idea this store would have a mountain, aquarium, indoor archery range, deli and fudge shop. I am looking forward to going, with or without the kids!

The store’s staff will offer educational seminars and demonstrations throughout the year providing tips and insight on outdoor products and activities.
