— Police have offered a reward to help solve an armed robbery in which a cab driver and passenger were "viciously assaulted" early Friday.

Four men, all wearing red bandannas, approached the cab in a curve on Patton Street, near Johnson Street, shortly before 4 a.m., police said. They demanded money from the driver and passenger.

One robber carried a shotgun and attacked the cab driver, police said.

Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information about the incident or identity of the robbers should call Sgt. Kellie Hart at 910-433-1872 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Par for the course for the crime-ridden slum-town of Fayetteville. Why anyone would want to move there is beyond me. I guess if it's a choice between Durham, Rocky Mount or Fayetteville, might as well just play russion roulette.
