RALEIGH, N.C. — The Hive at Busy Bee Cafe in downtown Raleigh is getting a makeover.

Owners announced via Facebook this weekend that the Hive, which is located upstairs from the cafe at 225 S. Wilmington Street, is being transformed into a Belgian-inspired concept with a focus on the craft of brewing beer.

"Our passion for great beer has always been at the center of our businesses and with that in mind we have decided to focus our efforts on sharing that passion with all of our friends, regulars and future guests," owners wrote.

The new concept, Mash & Lauter, will feature a new menu that includes local products meant the pair bottled and draft beer. Beer options will include a variety of Belgian and Belgian-inspired American craft selections, vintage beers from the bar's extensive cellar and a menu of seasonal cocktails.

The Hive will be closed for about a week for the change in concept. It could reopen as early as next week.

The changes will not affect Busy Bee Cafe, which operates downstairs and on the rooftop patio. The hours and concept will remain the same, according to owners. It will also be open during the Hive's transformation.
