A new bakery and 342 jobs are coming to Pembroke.

Gov. Bev Perdue announced Tuesday that Steven Roberts Original Desserts and Ticklebelly Desserts will build a new facility, invest $4 million and hire 342 people over the next five years.

The company received a $392,000 One North Carolina Fund grant. This kind of grant requires a local match.

Average salaries will be $22,926 plus benefits. The average wage in Robeson County is $26,728, according to Perdue’s office.
