North Carolina consumers can apply for another $1 million in rebates if they purchase energy efficient appliances.
The Energy Star Appliance Replacement and Rebate program had been out of funds, but the North Carolina Energy Office announced Friday another $1 million in federal funds had been made available.
Rebates between $75 and $300 are available for washers, furnaces, dishwashers, refrigerators and other appliances that meet energy criteria

So far, some 75,000 appliances worth $86 million have been purchased under the rebate program.
