Booz Allen to add hundreds of jobs in Fayetteville

The Virginia-based firm, which is currently working with the U.S. Army on consolidation of forces at Fort Bragg and the additional resources and forces that will be based in Cumberland County, said it would increase its employees in Fayetteville from 30 to 300.

“Our firm had the option of locating literally anywhere to support our work with FORSCOM and USARC,” said William Butler, a Booz Allen executive who is directing the expansion, referring to the Army commands involved in the Fort Bragg restructuring.

“We chose Fayetteville and Cumberland County for two reasons. One (is) the community worked hard to assist us in our search for a viable location, and also we found that the community’s economic development partnership with the city and county allowed for a seamless process by which to make our decision,” Butler said in a statement.

The company offers consulting services for strategy, operations, organization, cyber security, information technology, systems engineering and program management.

The expanded offices are scheduled to open in June in a former Wachovia Bank building at the intersection of All American Freeway, Morganton and Sycamore Dairy Roads.

Booz Allen operates 80 offices across the U.S. Locations outside of the Fayetteville area were considered for the expanded operation, the company said.

"Today’s announcement shows why the Cumberland County region is a hub of economic activity with the relocation of FORSCOM and USARC, and these 300 jobs are a perfect fit.”
