Appliance manufacturer picks Charlotte for HQ, more than 700 jobs
Electrolux, which operates a dishwasher plant in Kinston, will receive a $1.2 million grant and nearly $25 million in tax rebates from N.C. The company is relocating its headquarters from Georgia and consolidating other operations in Charlotte.

The company plans to consolidate several operations from around the U.S. to Charlotte and investment more than $8 million. A “minimum of 738 jobs” will be created, according to the governor’s office.
Electrolux makes dishwashers at the Kinston plant and employs most of its 650 North Carolina employees at that location.
North Carolina agreed to provide Electrolux with a $1.2 million grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which requires a local match.
Electrolux also received a Job Development Investment Grant, or JDIG, that could be worth nearly $25 million over 12 years. The JDIG is a 75 percent rebate of state employment taxes paid by employers for new jobs created under the agreement.
