Durham, N.C. — Retail chain giant Nordstrom is bringing its discount operation to North Carolina.
The Seattle-based chain said Monday it would open one of its “Nordstrom Rack” outlets in the Renaissance Center, which is located near the Streets at Southpoint mall.
The store will open next fall and cover 33,000 square feet.
Nordstrom rack outlets offer clothing, shoes and other merchandise at discounts of between 30-70 percent off standard Nordstrom prices.
CBL & Associates Properties operates the Renaissance Center.
Nordstrom has maintained one of its major chain stores in Southpoint since 2002. Nordstrom operates 184 stores in 28 states, including 69 Nordstrom Rack operations.
