BURLINGTON — GoldToeMoretz is closing its textile plant in Burlington, and 430 workers will lose their jobs as a result.
The shutdown will begin March 10 and be completed by June.
In response, Gov. Mike Easley said on Wednesday that he has sent a “Rapid Response Team” from the N.C. Department of Commerce to help workers find new jobs or obtain training for new careers.
The team includes representatives from state and local government agencies as well as the N.C. Employment Security Commission and the N.C. Community College System.
