RALEIGH, N.C. – Midwest Airlines is launching non-stop flight service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Milwaukee, the airline said Thursday.

Service will begin on June 1, and introductory fares are as low as $99. Three flights will be offered daily.

Midwest said it will use 50-seat regional jets operated by SkyWest Airlines. The jets will be painted in Midwest colors.

The new flight is a response to interest in the RDU market, according to Scott Dickson, chief marketing officer for the airline.

“The state's government, leading educational institutions and cutting-edge high-tech industries are based in Raleigh/Durham, making the region an important center for business travelers," he said. "The new Raleigh/Durham route affords customers in the upper Midwest a quick and convenient way to reach North Carolina and the many attractions in the region."

The Midwest service is the latest in a growing number of destinations served out of RDU. ExpressJet launches service to seven markets in the near future, United will add a non-stop flight to Denver, and American and American Eagle as well as JetBlue are adding flights.
