RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — The ESPN Network’s annual Winter ‘X’ Games will have a Triangle connection this year.
Implus Footcare, which is based in Research Triangle Park, will be an on-site partner for the Games on Jan. 25 through Jan. 28 in Aspen, Col.
Implus plans to highlight its Yaktrax brand.
Named after the Yak, which roams the Himalayan Mountains, Yaktrax resemble tire chains and stretch over anything from winter boots to jogging shoes. Made up of steel coils designed to prevent skidding and sliding on snow and ice, Yaktrax are now sold in more than 20 countries.
The ESPN Winter X Games is expected to draw more than 250 athletes competing in skiing, snowboard and snowmobile events.
