Charlotte-based Satellite Connectivity Firm Is Sold

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — SDN Global, a provider of satellite connectivity and data continuity services, is being sold to SatCom Group Holdings, an international company based in the U.K.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

SatCom is a reseller of airtime services and satellite systems hardware.

SDN operates a global satellite broadband network, and SatCom plans to use that network to broaden its portfolio of service offerings.

SDN will operate as a subsidiary of SatCom, and SDN Chief Executive Officer Larry Jones will oversee its operations.

“This is the opportunity that SDN has long awaited to take us to the next level of growth,” Jones said in a statement. “The synergies between the two companies will offer immediate benefit to both mobile and fixed satellite markets.”
