CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Conterra Ultra Broadband of Charlotte, has selected Dennis Francis to lead the company as president and chief operating officer.
Since 2005, Francis served as executive vice president and chief technology officer for the data, video and voice transport service company. In his new role, Francis will oversee daily activity and concentrate on accelerated growth of its wireless backhaul services business throughout suburban and rural markets.
"I have worked with and personally known Dennis for more than 15 of his 28 years in the telecommunications industry," said Stephen Leeolou, chairman and chief executive officer of Conterra. "I am highly confident that his extensive experience as a professional engineer, senior technical manager and operations manager in many of America's largest telecom companies will provide Conterra's technical, operations and sales teams with the senior leadership and direction they need to continue our successful growth in the transport services marketplace."
Francis served on President Bush's National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) in 2002 and 2003. He is a licensed, professional engineer with a degree from the University of Texas-Arlington.
