Research Triangle Park, N.C. — Mark Heesen, president of the National Venture Capital Association, will come to the Triangle for a discussion about the state of the VC industry on January 22.
The event, which is being put on by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, will take place at the Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh starting at 4 p.m.
CED President Monica Doss also will participate.
“North Carolina’s economic vitality is tied to our emerging industries which are greatly impacted by venture capitalists,” Doss said, “so we are excited for Mark Heesen to provide key insight on the venture capital trends in our area and beyond.”
The NVCA is based in Washington, D.C.
“The year 2008 will bring exciting venture investments in information technology, life sciences and clean technologies and I am looking forward to sharing how we believe this region and the country will fare in the coming year,” Heesen said.
