Durham, N.C. — Pfizer Animal Health will soon be announcing plans to expand its operations in the Triangle.
The division of international pharmaceutical giant Pfizer issued a media advisor this week that it planned to announce additional jobs and more leased office space. It then postponed the announcement due to lease negotiations that had not yet been completed, according to a company spokesperson.
Pfizer Animal Health is increasing its commitment to the business it acquired in 2007 – Embrex, which had developed technology for inoculating chicken embryos against disease before they were hatched.
Just how much space and how many jobs will be involved are facts the company won’t disclose right now, the spokesperson said.
However, he noted, “In this economy, very few announcements are being made like this one.”
The spokesperson added that “no state money” or economic incentives were part of the expansion decision.
