Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies were providing extra security at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant after a death threat was made at the plant Friday, authorities said.
Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, said the threat wasn't reported as a crime, but investigators were working with Goodyear officials in Ohio to determine if the threat was real or a hoax.
The added security was expected to end Tuesday, when the plant shuts down for the holidays, Tanna said.
