GARNER, N.C. — Butterball LLC, the nation’s largest turkey producer, broke ground Thursday on a site for its corporate headquarters, which is expected to move from Mount Olive to Garner by next spring.

The move to the Greenfield North business park near the intersection of Interstate 40 and U.S. Highway 70 involves a $12 million investment and about 70 management jobs.

Garner offered about $180,000 in incentives to Butterball for it to move to the town.

Mount Olive-based Carolina Turkeys purchased the Butterball division from ConAgra Inc. last year and adopted the well-known brand's name.
