Posted Updated

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Hospice of the Valley, which provides hospice services in Arizona, will use 450 Lenovo ThinkPad tablet PCs as part of its patient care program.

“Our priority is to continuously deliver the highest possible levels of patient care and support," said Mark Dempt, chief information officer for Hospice of the Valley. “We work in different environments – from our offices and local hospitals to patients’ homes. With the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet PCs, we have critical patient information at our fingertips, and that allows us to make the most informed decisions. Also in using the Tablet PCs, we have seen the amount of time spent on paperwork drop, and that gives us more time to spend engaging with our patients.”

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Doctors and staff will use the Tablets over a wireless network to access patient data through electronic records. The PCs are equipped with integrated fingerprint readers for additional security.
