Southwest to launch RDU-Houston flight

Southwest Airlines will begin nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Houston Hobby Airport in January, officials said Monday.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Southwest Airlines will begin nonstop service between Raleigh-Durham International Airport and Houston Hobby Airport in January, officials said Monday.

"This flight offers customers an alternative connection to West Coast markets of importance to RDU, including San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland,” Teresa Damiano, deputy airport director for marketing and customer relations, said in a statement.

Beginning Jan. 3, the flight will depart RDU at 4:20 p.m., arriving in Houston at 6:05 p.m. A flight will leave Houston at 1:20 p.m. and arrive at RDU at 5 p.m.
