Garner, N.C. — Butterball LLC, the nation's largest turkey producer, on Tuesday named Rod Brenneman as the company's new chief executive officer.
Brenneman has served as interim CEO since Keith Shoemaker's unexpected resignation in April.
He previously served in various positions at Seaboard Corp., which co-owns Butterball with Maxwell Farms LLC, including president and CEO of Seaboard Foods. He was involved in many of the company's acquisitions and joint ventures and helped build the company into one of the top hog production and pork processing companies in the U.S.
"With his strategic and customer orientated approach, we are optimistic that Rod will bring significant value to Butterball products, the brand name and the company overall," Steve Bresky, president and CEO of Seaboard Corp., said in a statement.
