Homeschooling parents, or parents who have kids with a scientific bent, or just people who like microscopes! Here's a neat, odd little offer I read about recently in a blog called Make.
ASPEX is a company that makes desktop scanning electronic microscopes and they're currently running a deal. Send them a sample of something, and they'll scan it under an electron microscope and publish the results on the ASPEX Web site. It's free. You can find the instructions for sending samples at http://aspexcorp.com/updates/sem-image-gallery-by-aspex-send-us-your-sample/. You can also find a gallery of some of the things scanned so far at http://aspexcorp.com/updates/category/sem-image-gallery/.
Items scanned so far include a penny, hard candy, paper tears, and human hair. Hmm... I wonder if I could mail them a pork rind...
