I know that for several posts now Tech Talk has been talking a lot about elected officials. I promise after this post I will give it a break. The next two posts will be entirely free of references to elected representatives of North Carolina. I'm pretty sure.
But as long as we're here anyway, let me mention quickly that Governor Bev Perdue now has an RSS feed for her blog. Go to http://www.governor.state.nc.us/eTownhall/Blog/ and look for the RSS icon.I don't know if this will make Scott Jennings completely happy, but it will at least address one complaint.
I blogged about Governor Perdue's new Web site last month. The site I've been blogging about more recently is Senator Kay Hagan's. I noted over the weekend that her Web site is still the temporary one-pager, and that she doesn't yet have up a complete Web site. This afternoon, I had a conversation with David Hoffman, Kay Hagan's press secretary, about the plans for her new Web site.
The new Web site is in process and underway. What I didn't realize is that it's going to be a two step process. Within days there will be a new-but-temporary site available for Senator Hagan. David told me that the temporary site will be more extensive and will include at least press releases for the Senator. "Senator Hagan is very eager to have a Web site so people can see what she's up to and get in touch with her," he said. "We feel like during the campaign we did a lot of online outreach and we want to continue that."
After the temporary site will come the final site, which in turn will have even more information and methods of outreach and communication.
Keep your eyes on http://hagan.senate.gov!
