Going Green - Alive and Well in 2008

Going green is alive and well in 2008 – I’m currently attending Greenbuild Conference 2008 in Boston, MA. I am writing to you from the Press Room in the convention center, catching up on emails and other materials until our 4pm Real Estate Media Press Conference today.

Sustainability, Recycling and a forward thinking mindset are abundant throughout the conference. What is so refreshing to see is the coming together of so many industries, people, and technologies, all in one place. To be able to see the future of green technologies within a matter of a couple of days under one roof is quite a treat!! This is exactly what housing needs right now – (other than of course more qualified buyers)

I’ll be giving an update towards the end of the convention on Friday, and rest assured, there will be lots of great information given to you. Everything from the latest in reclaimed woods from around the world – (incredibly gorgeous woods which are being saved everyday from the world’s junkyards), to the very cool demonstration given by Honda on their not so new (it’s been on sale for more than four years now) Natural Gas Car – did you know they even sell the home adaptor kit for nightly “fill-ups” which looks like a large vertical version of the modern day vacuum cleaner. To the demonstration I received from Plumber Joe (I’m not kidding – The Kohler Company hired a Plumber named Joe to discuss the benefits of using their new low-flow toilets – and gave me a hands on demonstration of how the technology really works). I’ll stay away from the “down the drain” jokes.

These and many more technologies are playing and will be playing such a major role in our lives – thereby impacting housing both directly and indirectly. This is a passion of mine, and I hope to be bringing you some very interesting information and content in the coming weeks and months.
