Check A Few Boxes, Get Some Recipes -- And Video

There are plenty of places on the Internet that let you search for recipes, but not many places that allow you to pick what you like, then present you with some dishes. I really enjoyed playing with Cancer Center Recipes Just for You, a service of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center and available at http://mcancer.org/recipes .

Once you get to the site, look for the Recipe Search link. Click on that and you'll get a menu of food needs (high protein, low sodium, vegan, dairy-free, no nuts, etc.) Click on the checkbox for the food needs you want. (The more you click, of course, the fewer results you'll get.)

Beneath that there's a list of fruits and vegetables. Check the ones you like. I decided I wanted low-sodium recipes for blueberries, carrots, collard greens, and okra. (Um, hopefully not all at the same time.)

I got 15 results, from "Carrots in Tonic Water" to "Vegetable Stir Fry with Passion Fruit Vinaigrette". Click on the recipe name and you'll get, of course, the recipe. But you'll also get nutritional information AND for some recipes you'll get a short video of Graham Kerr, the Galloping Gourmet, discussing the recipe and giving some of his thoughts.
