Restaurant & Cafeteria Inspection Report Alerts by E-Mail
I try to catch the WRAL Five on Your Side restaurant inspections regularly -- both for the information and for the bevy of sound effects. But there are a lot of restaurants in Raleigh and if Monica Laliberte tried to keep up with all of them she wouldn't have time to breathe.
Luckily there are other (perhaps though not as entertaining!) ways to get restaurant inspections. And not even just restaurant inspections, but school cafeteria inspections too, exactly the ones you specify! Check it out at http://wake.digitalhealthdepartment.com/.
From this site you can do a bunch of different health inspection searches -- look for the search forms on the right side of the page -- but you can also sign up for alerts. Registration is required, which just requires your name, e-mail address, and a password. Once you're signed up you'll be taken to a page of information. You'll be asked to confirm whether or not you want e-mail updates (if you don't you can get the updates when you revisit the site) and whether or not you want e-mail updates about the site itself.
Finally there's a huge list of facilities from which you can choose to receive alerts -- CTRL+Click if you want to select multiple items on the list. The list spans from Beacon Baptist Church Day Care to Zyng Asian Grill. And like I mentioned a couple paragraphs ago, school cafeterias are included in this list as well. Schools seemed to be listed by their common names, so don't look under N for "Needham Broughton", look under B for Broughton. Addresses are included with each restaurant listing (who knew there were so many McDonald's in Wake County?)
