Olympics Online
The Olympics, they're so confusing! There's so much coverage on TV, and unfortunately when I try to look at my TV listings they just say "Olympics". It doesn't say whether coverage will include downhill skiing (which I want to watch) or hockey (which I don't, particularly.) There are many places online where you can get guides to Olympic coverage, and even some video from NBC! But I get ahead of myself...
I like Yahoo's Olympics coverage at http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/torino2006/. Here you can get the latest news and medal counts for the various events. On the right side of the page you can also get television listings -- what's on right now, and what's coming up later. If you visit the TV schedule page, it'll give you TV schedule coverage across many different channels (including NBC, CNBC, USA, and MSNBC) all the way through February 26.
NBC, has you might expect, also has television listings at their Olympics home site. They've also got stories, photos, video, and a lot more on one extremely busy page. You can watch highlights and Olympic stories via their online video, but make sure your media player is fully upgraded or you may have some trouble. Want something a little less frantic? NPR's Olympics coverage includes stories, RSS feeds, and a daily blog.
The official Olympics site, at http://www.torino2006.org/ENG/OlympicGames/home/index.html , is obviously not going to have TV schedules. But they do have a schedule of events and an amazing photo gallery that's broken out by event. Don't miss the Kodak "picture of the day" gallery either.
Wikipedia's page for the 2006 Olympics is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Winter_Olympics. There's also pointers here to information on future Olympics. Coverage here includes medal counts, event results, and a schedule. Wikipedia notes that it may have event results before the events actually air in the US, so there's a "spoiler warning" before event results are listed. While you're here visit the Wikimedia Commons page for the 2006 Olympics, which contains photographs of the event (at the moment it's mostly the torch being run, but I expect it'll expand.)
