I know it's not quite Thanksgiving yet, and I don't want to get all holidays on you... but if you need to mail some cards, or if you've got a gift card going and you don't know the closest place to drop it off, this site is going to come in handy. The Payphone Project has expanded into mailboxes, at http://www.payphone-project.com/mailboxes/.
You can browse by state/city or do a quick search by zip code; a search for 27606 found over two dozen mailboxes, with addresses, brief description ("Next to Blockbuster", "In Parking Lot Behind Research Building", etc.) and zip code with 4-digit extension. More than that, each mailbox has its own detail page with a map, form for getting driving directions, and even the pickup details. Sounds like overkill for a mailbox, but indispensable when you've got something that you really want to mail today!
And if you're feeling nostalgic, don't forget to check out the regular Payphone Project -- an archive of payphone photos all over the world, and listings of payphone locations. As you might expect this one resource that's getting scarcer and scarcer....
