wrong year for the cruise control disconnects. That year had 2 issues - ignition swtich could overheat, or the impact sensor that shuts off the fuel supply can cause a problem, if the heater core leaked antifreeze on it and the contacts started to short to ground. Not uncommon to leak - uncommon to cause a fire. The ignition switch is a known recall.

Fuel filter is under the passenger area along the frame of the truck. It's not in the engine bay.

Cruise Control Disconnect Switch that Fords are so Famous For? Maybe he got the 1st recall harness where they put the fuse on the ground and not the hot leg, and hasn't gotten the 2nd recall. What a GREAT wiring job on that sensor......

"call the towing service that towed your vehicle and arrange to pay your bill for the services they performed."

Hopefully they remembered to remove the licensee plate so they won't need to bother with all that.

to the owner of the bronco, please call the towing service that towed your vehicle and arrange to pay your bill for the services they performed. it takes the state about 6 months to give them authorization to get rid of your vehicle and that storage adds up. some towing companies use collection agencies for unpaid debt.

Once again, stellar reporting by WRAL... (NOT!)

What is the condition of the driver? Was anyone hurt?

Thanks for all of the useful information, WRAL!

To bad it wasn't the enormous white Lexus SUV, that was traveling on eastbound I 40 coming into the triangle this morning, this thing come up on me so fast and whipped over in to the next lane as he got right up on me, I may have been able to reach out and touch his front finder. Than he has the audacity to cut me off as he whips it back in my lane. Went to move over to the right lane to get away from this idiot and guess what? He cuts me off again! Unbelievable! It wouldn't be scary on two wheels if it wasn't for the idiots out there.
