Raleigh, N.C. — A Wake County school bus was destroyed by fire late Tuesday night while parked at Leesville Road High School, district officials said.
The engine compartment and most of the seating area was charred.
Raleigh police classified the fire as arson, but as of Wednesday afternoon, no one had been charged with the crime.
A school spokeswoman estimated the value of the bus at about $80,000, and said a replacement would be covered by insurance.
